After selecting a stack of images (captured by TimeLaps) the user is prompted to define a region of interest and to set a threshold. This allows the system to locate the crack with as little confusion as possible. Once processing of the stack has started, if more than one object is located withing the region of interest, the user is asked to indicate which object should be measured as the crack.
As the images in the stack are analyzed graphic displays show the elapsed time per image, the crack length increase, and the crack area incease slope. After the stack has been processed, the data can be displayed in dialog boxes, which can then be copied to the Windows Clipboard and included in documents created by other Windows applications.
The data from the analysis can be saved in a tab-delimited ASCII data file suitable for use with EXCEL and many other software packages.
