Microscope calibration assists the operator in establishing Koehler illumination. Microscope calibration also sets proper frame capture card adjustments using calibrated optical density standards.
Quality control records the results of the microscope calibration along with the results of percent activity and ploidy analysis of control tissue sections run to verify system and stability.
Percent Activity performs a semi-quantitative classification of operator selected immunostained cells into four activity classes: Negative, Low, Medium, and High. The operator verifies proper classification using a pseudocolored image with the four classifications shown in four distinct colors.
Poidy measures the DNA content of operator selected Thionin Feulgen or MIB-1 stained cells using integrated optical density. The DNA content of potentially aneuploid cells is compared with the DNA content of a control diploid population.
Report generation is handled through EXCEL spreadsheets which present percent activity and ploidy data in tabular and graphical formats fo easy interpretation by qualified pathologists.
