Leica DM E
Student Microscope

Leica DM E

Overview

The Leica DM E student microscope compound microscope is designed for general biology and specific life science laboratory sessions in the university setting.

It incorporates leading-edge technology such as a highly efficient illumination system that offers a lamp life of over 2,000 hours and produces more light than competitive instruments, with a halogen light source that provides consistent color and intensity throughout the lamp life.

Optics

Superb optics provides brilliant, high contrast imaging quality. Upgradeable optics to Leica DM L series for even better performance. Anti-Fungus / Mold warranty protects your investment. Spring-loaded high magnification objectives prevent broken sample slides. Standard 18mm field of view / 10x eyepiece provides a wide FOV and comfortable operation. Standard, high eyepoint eyepieces available with pointer and accept 21 mm reticules for measuring or counting applications.

Construction

Voltage-sensing power supply optimizes light intensity regardless of voltage fluctuations and automatically utilizes any voltage. Diecast metal stand for strength and durability in demanding environments. Rear facing nosepiece allows easy access to sample and comfortable operation. Low heat output protects the user and allows comfortable operation. Meets or exceeds international safety standards of UL, cUL, VDE, CE and EMC. Protects the user and investment.

Key Features

  • A voltage-sensing power supply optimizes light intensity regardless of voltage fluctuations, and is designed to meet international safety standards to facilitate usage anywhere in the world
  • Illumination is easily upgradeable with interchangeable 20W and 35W lamps
  • An easily-removed diffuser can provide more than 400% additional light, making the Leica DM E the brightest in its class
  • The Leica DM E illumination efficiency allows the use of a lamp with a life 20 times longer than what is used in other microscopes, saving money and time in replacements
  • An illuminated intensity control signals users when the microscope has been left on, saving on lamps life
  • An angled lamp door prevents the door from accidentally breaking
  • The system's wide dynamic range allows for comfortable viewing for a variety of applications, including darkfield, brightfield, polarization, phase contrast and photomicrography
  • The Koehler option is available to provide illumination for more exacting techniques like phase contrast and photomicrography
