Fully or Semi automatic Vibrating Blade Microtome
The LEICA RM2145 is designed for specimen preparation in routine and research applications in histology, histopathology and industrial quality assurance laboratories.
The new vibrating blade microtome LEICA VT1000 is designed for multiple applications in medicine, biology and botany, one of the most important applications being sectioning fixed and unfixed fresh tissue. Quality assurance and materials research in industry are other important applications for this new bench top instrument.

Sectioning is done via a vibration blade. This technique permits sectioning soft materials without compression. For this reason, no embedding or freezing procedure, which cause tissue damage and morphological alterations, are required prior to sectioning.

The removable buffer tray and integrated cooling bath preserve the enzyme activity of the tissue during the sectioning procedure.

Additionally, the fully automatic LEICA VT1000 offers specimen retraction, continuos stroke mode of operation and an individually adjustable sectioning range.
