Developing Your Application
with OPTIMAS

1. Develope a prototype of your application using Optimas.
Optimas includes a powerful control language, and interpreter, and hundreds of imaging functionsand measurements.
Optimas' power and flexability lets you:
  • Automatically generate code by recording commands using the script interpreter
  • Browse the on-line help by topic or keyword to find specific types of functions
  • Cut and Paste code from the help system or from hundreds of example macros
  • Communicate data with other Windows programs using DDE and OLE
  • Directly call external DLLs or write your own custom function libraries
By interactively recording, writing, and testing you can create a prototype of your applicationin a matter of minutes. Programs written with Optimas are very efficient because the scripts aretokenized (like Visual BASIC p-code) and they call compiled functions for computationally intensive operations.

2. Create the user interface
WIth the Optimas development kit you can create your own custom menus, design custom dialog boxes andcontrols, and replace the program name, icon, and startup screen.		3. Create the stand-alone applications using Optimate
Optimate, the run-time version of Optimas, allows you to create a stand-alone application. Simplycombine your custom scripts with Optimate and change the startup proceedure to invoke you customuser interface. Make your own installation program and your application is finished. Your customsoftware is automatically copy protected using the Optimate lock. Your program scripts can beencrypted to further protect your proprietary application code.
