Since 1987 OPTIMAS has helped scientists and engineers extract vital information from images. Information that is propelling discoveries in science, creating breakthroughs in product development, and improving manufacturing quality control.Powerful, flexible, and easy to use, OPTIMAS is the preferred software for image analysis throughout the world. Professionals choose OPTIMAS because, more than any other software package available, OPTIMAS delivers results. And, unlike software you can buy through a catalog, OPTIMAS is backed by a worldwide network of image analysis specialists and the industry's best technical support services. When you're facing a tough application and a tight deadline, this kind of support can mean the difference between success and failure.Creating answers from images is the business of Optimas Corporation. That is why OPTIMAS is the best tool to help you unlock the power of your images.

Tools to capture and manage any image
To answer critical questions you need to capture and view your images in the most revealing way. Optimas simplifies this process with a seamless interface that allows you to connect to almost any image capture source. But image capture and display is often just the beginning of an image analysis solution. To solve tough problems you need powerful image processing tools. Optimas provides a comprehensive set of image processing tools. To save you time, the most commonly used tools are presented in convenient menus and simple dialog boxes. To give you optimum control, image processing techniques are macro-recordable and can be customized to suite your requirements.
Select a camera to suite your needs
Utilize the scanner with any industry standard TWAIN interface
Open standard and proprietary image files
Aquire Photo-CD images
Save in industry standard file formats, including JPEG compressed and FTS high-bit depth
Capture time or spacial image sequences
Adjust image contrast
Average and resuce noise
Enhance with filtering and morphology
Subtract or correct background noise
Compare images with pixel operations
Rotate and align images
Zoom, pan, and scroll multiple views
Annotate and print images
Accurate measurements and professional results in 4 easy steps
Optimas employs a simple and powerful process for measuring images. First identify the features you want to measure. You can use tools to draw, trace, or even automatically recognize features.
Next select a set of measurements. The Optimas measurement list includes hundreds of measurements and even lets you define your own. Pre-defined measurement sets are available for particle counting, object classification, densitometry, gauging, critical dimension measurement, object tracking, and more.
When you're ready, export the measurements to an ASCII file or send them directly to Microsoft Excel. Optimas includes built-in report generation, so you can view a report of your data as you're collecting it.
You'll find tools for creating custom image processing and measurement routines, commands for communication and device control, all of the mathematical operators normally found in C PLus high level vector, matrix, and frequency domain mathematics. For controlling other Windows programs and libraries you will find commands for Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), Object Linking and Embedding (OLE), and calling functions in Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL).To get a head start on application development you can cut and paste functions from libraries of macro source code that are included with Optimas. Or you can select any macro command name and jump to on-line help. Each of nearly 400 macro commands includes detailed descriptions of parameters, return values, related topics, and (best of all) source code examples you can cut and paste into your application.
