| The VG-5 frame grabber is intended
for use in general scientific imaging, whether bright field or low light.
It is especially suited for flourescence imaging and gel documentation
systems. The VG-5 can control on-chip integrating cameras and its video
output may be connected to a video printer, providing a complete and economical
documentation system. Either raw video, or images that have been enhanced
and annotated may be output to the printer with the VG-5.
The VG-5 has a number of features which make it suitable for a high quality, low cost imaging workstation. Its small 7" size enables it to fit in any Macintosh or PC compatible with a PCI slot. There is a video printer remote line which will actuate a video printer. The VG-5 may also be used with RGB color cameras to acquire 24 bit color image with a three pass capture process. In addition an external trigger line may be used to synchronize to external events. |
| Pixel Depth: 8 bits Resolution (RS-170): 640 x 480 pixels Resolution (CCIR): 768 x 512 pixels Pixel Jitter: +/- 4 ns (1/20 pixel) Signal to Noise Ratio: 47 dB |
Pixel Aspect Ratio:
1 to 1 On-board Memory: 1 Mb Integration Control Line: 1, TTL level Remote Print Line: 1, TTL level External Trigger: 1, TTL edge triggered |
| The VG-5 may be used in any Macintosh or PC compatible with any size PCI slot. It may be used with either grayscale video sources or with RGB color video sources as long as they adhere to either RS-170 or CCIR timing characteristics. The VG-5 may not be used with composite color video signals as in the interest of grayscale fidelity, the video signal is not filtered to remove color information. |
