Kenjiro Takayanagi eventually became the father of television technology. He said later that, as he was pursuing his research and was engaged in developing technology that would serve society ten to twenty years in the future, he occasionally had a mental image of the goddess of fortune, and always saw her portrayed as a beautiful woman with full bangs, but no hair at the back of her head. Playing with this idea, Takayanagi imagined that, in order to grasp the goddess of fortune, one would have to be one step ahead of her, wait for her to catch up, and then turn around and grasp her by the bangs. Applying this whimsical fancy to his work, Takayanagi resolved to always be one step ahead and have the technology ready when the opportunity to apply it came within reach. Hamamatsu Digital Microscopy Cameras

Hamamatsu C10600-10B ORCA-R2

The C10600-10B (ORCA-R2) offers high-quality imaging over a wide spectral range, with especially high sensitivity in the visible and near-infrared regions. Its CCD sensor is encased in a maintenance-free, hermetic vacuum-sealed chamber which ensures efficient camera cooling by either air or water. Thanks to this cooling structure and an advanced external circuit design, the C10600-10B also provides rapid readout with minimal noise. In normal scan mode, readout is 8.5 frames per second at full spatial resolution. In fast scan mode, frame rates range from 16.2 to 115.1 frames per second at varying levels of resolution.

The ImagEM-1K is a brand new member of the C9100 camera series. Combining our decades of experience with high vacuum technology and all the latest advances in CCD circuit design this new camera offers application independent imaging. From the very brightest high dynamic range applications to single photon imaging over long integrations, this camera provides images with the very best signal to noise ratios. The key to this versatility is the E2V CCD97 CCD and Hamamatsu creative engineering. New methods for driving this well known CCD offer special modes of operation for fast, low noise operation and special patent pending synchronization with spinning disk confocal and multi-point confocal microscopes.

Hamamatsu C8484-05G02 ORCA-05G

The C8600-Series is a high sensitive image intensifier unit developed for low light level observations such as fluorescence. High quantum efficiency of 50 % (typ.) at the peek wavelength is achieved with our Hamamatsu-original GaAsP (gallium, arsenic, and phosphorous) photocathode. Since high gain and spatial resolution are realized simultaneously, low fluorescence under a microscope can be observed in real time using Hamamatsu cameras.



Hamamatsu C8484-03G02 ORCA-03G

The C8484-03G02 (Orca-03G) is a cooled high-resolution digital camera using a progressive scan interline CCD chip with no mechanical shutter. In addition to a high resolution of 1.37 million pixels, a wide dynamic range of 12 bit digital output and high sensitivity in the VIS-NIR region offers a wide application range down to low light level imaging.

The ORCA-3CCD cooled digital color camera incorporates three cooled CCD chips, providing the rapid readout, high-resolution and superior S/N ratio of the Hamamatsu ORCA digital camera series. The three color CCDs employ an RGB prism to achieve extremely high quality color representation without color blur, performance difficult to achieve with a single-CCD camera. The CCDs used are the same as those used in the ORCA ER, providing proven high quantum efficiency and high resolution, cooled to 0°C for high sensitivity detection. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, from brightfield (ie: stained pathological specimens) to fluorescent specimens using GFP and fluorescent antibodies.
